Volt

The Pan-European Party

About Us

What is Volt?

Volt is the first and only paneuropean party that exists. We are actively working to establish a true European democracy. So that we can face local as well as global problems with European solutions.

What does Volt stand for?

Volt stands for a united and strong Europe. A Europe that is pragmatic and yet progressive. A Europe that puts people at the centre of its activities and yet is not afraid of new developments. A Europe that respects fundamental and minority rights and defends democracy and its values in the world.

Our Values

Based on Art 2 of the EU Treaty, we have defined the following values as a common basis for our work and the creation of our programmes in all European countries:

Human Dignity

We believe in the unchangeable dignity of every human. This respect and appreciation for every human being determines our policy in its heart. We believe that no two persons are the same and that our diversity enriches our society.

Equal Opportunities

We believe in the right of every individual to determine his or her own destiny, regardless of where he or she comes from or what values he or she has. We believe that everyone should be able to develop their full potential according to their own definition, no matter who they are. We believe that everyone should be able to actively participate in society.

Justice

To the law all are equal, before commandments and prohibitions are aimed at individuals. We fight all forms of discrimination because we believe that everyone should be able to reach their full potential, no matter who they are. Furthermore, citizens should be able to trust in the reliability and fairness of their state.

Freedom

We believe that every person should be free to live their freedom and express their personality as long as they do not violate the rights of others. The person is not only a citizen, but also a private individual who should be able to realise his or her potential outside the political dimension. Moreover, the state should always prefer to inform and empower the citizen rather than force him.

Solidarity

We are Europe and Europe is We. If we understand that our individual future is closely linked to the fate of all other Europeans, we can fully realise that solidarity is the foundation of our European society. We believe that solidarity should guide our individual and collective actions and thus our policies. No citizen, no region, no country is left behind.

Sustainability

Our focus lies on the progress for a better future. That is why we believe that sustainability is the key. Our economies, our individual behaviour and the management of our state should be sustainable, whether in terms of nature, finance or other common resources.

What is the difference between a member and a volunteer?

Members enjoy full access to our internal working platforms and documents, actively participate in our political activities, pay membership fees and accordingly have the right to vote at our Austrian and European General Assembly.

Volunteers do not have access to our internal working platforms and documents, they do not pay membership fees and accordingly have no voting rights at a General Assembly. Volunteers receive our newsletter and, on a case-by-case basis, actively participate in our political activities. In this respect, we contact all our volunteers with individual tasks and events. P.s.: Look out for our WhatsApp groups or ask our members here how to contact us!
